Mumbai Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The club participates in the I-League, India's top-tier football league. Mumbai FC was founded in 2007 with the objective of providing a platform for the young aspiring footballers from the city to showcase their talent and to try to make it to the big stage. The club gained promotion to the I-League in 2008, and finished 7th in their maiden I-League campaign in 2008/09 season.
It is with pleasure to officially announce IFS as the sole Youth Development partner of the esteemed Mumbai FC. The IFS team has tirelessly worked with the development of young footballers over the last 4 years and has decided to raise the platform for its students. IFS, announces its long term project with Mumbai FC where students from IFS will feed into the MFC U-15 team on a regular basis.
The tie up with Mumbai FC paves way for deserving IFS candidates to then push through the ranks from U-17’s, U-19’s to the first team!!
The U-15 Mumbai FC team will consist of a squad of players, out of which deserving students exclusively from the IFS family will be picked through trials and on merit to make up the squad. The selected squad will be trained by Mumbai FC U-15 head coach & their coaching staff who will prepare the boys for the tournaments such as the prestigious U-15 I League and the like. The Mumbai FC U-15 squad will train throughout the year at the prestigious Cooperage Football Grounds.
IFS & Mumbai FC eventually plan to open up opportunities for all age categories under the youth development program where at regular intervals well deserving students from IFS will feed into the Mumbai FC Youth System and train as a Mumbai FC youth team player, participating in tournaments across the country. The young footballers will be provided with state of the art training facilities at IFS Cooperage where they will train with the Mumbai FC Youth Team Head Coaches and coaching staff on world class FIFA sanctioned Artificial Turf Pitches.
